While this book tells you it cover the AC system, it only covers a small portion of it. It excludes things like the Servo, aux water pump, the entire vacuum system that connects to button selections to the Servo, the button selector, the vacuum system that works the flaps. In effect it is useless and nonspecific to this car. I purchased it based on the fact that it says it includes the AC system on the cover and the line “based on a complete tear down and rebuild”. Don’t waste you money.

I usually try to have a factory repair manual for cars I have had, but when your choices are limited with an older car then this manual works pretty good. The torque values and specs alone are worth the cost. My one complaint is the pictures are very poor resolution and hard to see clearly.

My wife and I recently purchased a classic Mercedes 450SL. With a little research thanks to this book, we were able to make a smart buy. This book pointed out common problems we were unaware of, saving us from buying a money pit of a car. Also, this book was written for the normal person. It is easy to understand. Step by step it shows you how to make repairs - many of them the average person can do - again saving you the expense of a mechanic.Got an older ride? This book is a must.

Good but pages are full of low res photos. In this day and age it is not hard to have great photos. If I knew the photos were going to be this poor I may have not purchased. There are many online forums and resources available with the same good info but better photos.

I wish that Haynes made one of these books for my 560SL, but they don't and neither does Chiltons. But my 560 and the 450 share a lot of parts so I got the book in case it will help should I need it.

This is a somewhat useful book, but it tries to cover too many models to be as useful as one might like. I bought it for a M-B 350 SL and was somewhat disappointed. There's very little mention of the Bosch D-jetronic fuel injection, but that's pretty typical these days.
