In Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation, Bill Nye examines the theory of evolution with the excitement and enthusiasm which he brings to all of his work. He describes the evidence and processes of evolution from the earliest microorganisms 3.5 billion years ago up to modern Homo sapiens, outlining the story of life on Earth in a logical, highly-readable form. From the beginning, he explains that evolution, like gravity, is a scientific theory and that, unlike the vernacular use of the term, a theory in science denotes something that has continually stood up to repeated testing and can be used to predict future outcomes. He respectfully addresses the problems inherent in creationist ideology, explaining how, beyond providing a useless answer which can offer no use as a predictor of future outcomes, it fails to explain the diversity of life today or the observable processes in nature. My only complaint is that he is perhaps too respectful in dealing with an ideology that revels in and celebrates willful ignorance. Undeniable is a wonderful book for explaining evolution and his discussion on race offers insights that, taken to heart, could help people put an end to their racial biases. Truly, one of the best books about science of the past decade.

Interesting book. Even if you are a die hard religious person, it's still an interesting book to read. Nye respects everyone else's opinions while stating cold hard facts. Give it a read through!

Not know anything about evolution (Christian school upbringing and young Earth believing parents) I wanted to learn about evolution from the science guy from my childhood.. and it wasn't a drag and now I feel more informed. I don't care if he is an engineer and "not really a scientist"

I'm no expert or scientist but I have a lot of curiosity and interest about such things as astrophysics and evolution. I found this book to be not only fascinating and very readable but I learned so much reading it.

I had never read a book on evolution. I notice that other works are few and very expensive. Bill's book is affordable and gave the chance to understand evolution better. The spends a lot of time on the fossil record. His explanation of Darwin's theory was helpful in understanding how isolated species evolved evolved in different ways from their non-isolated cousins and, if fact, isolated species evolved different species found no where else.

I really enjoyed this read. I have a science background so I am used to reading books with a lot of information. This book was a very easy read even if you have no prior knowledge of science or evolution, yet it did not bore me at all. Bill Nye is a clear and sometimes humorous writer, you feel like he’s talking to you specifically. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun easy read with basic information on evolution.

I purchased this for my boyfriend and he loves it. He immediately dived right in and couldn't contain his excitement. It's well written, enthralling, and just wonderful.

Great read for anyone interested in learning more about evolution and how we are connected to all living things. Nye uses many helpful examples and a few personal stories to not only explain evolution, but to make the book fun and easy to understand. If you are interested in this subject, this is definitely a good book to give you a better understanding of it.
