This has been helpful. We are working out of the GED for Dummies book, and there were not enough practice problems. This book is good because it has a lot of practice problems, however it doesn't really explain how to do them. I like that the back of the book has answers in it. If you were studying on your own, this book would be helpful since it has the answers, but not helpful if you couldn't figure out your mistakes from just that. I use this as a tutoring aid to tutor someone for the GED, so it is helpful. Not enough practice problems, but worth the money for what you get, definitely. Not enough to make you pass the GED on its own, though, unless you are already know all this stuff and just need to brush up real quick before the test.

Purchased this book to help someone complete her GED. One thought to keep in mind is that some need a "PRE-GED" book. This book almost assumes you are at a high school junior or senior level of education. Great book though to prepare for that test if you are at that level. The few gals I tutored passed with flying colors with this book and a Pre-GED book...along with a few "Classic" Novels and multiplication tables.

I ordered this book for each of my kids at the beginning of their GED journeys a few years ago. The first thing they each did was to take the timed tests to chart where they were at the beginning of their journey, so we could track their progress and level of understanding as they worked toward taking--and passing--the GED (something each of them did at 16-years-old, so they could attend college early after homeschooling during their sophomore years in high school).Now I've just purchased this recently updated version for one my daughter's friends who plans to take the GED, but who didn't know where to begin. I think with this book in hand, she will grow more confident on her journey. And she'll have the encouragement of my daughter and me along the way.Good luck to anyone considering taking the GED!

After using this book my husband passed his ged ! It's great !

This book was a life saver! I was able to graduate with my diploma. It had everything I needed from history to math. It has the answers in the back of the book which was Extremely helpful with checking answers.

A friend of mine bought me a used copy and today when I received my book I found the bottom of the first 39 pages curling back on themselves, a partial M&M wrapper, several questions already filled in, and the CD-ROM almost broken completely in half. I expected a few imperfections with it being used but this is ridiculous. I have bought many things from here and never once had a problem with any of them. I am sure the curled back pages are from the book not being stabilized properly in the box and being tossed around but its quite sad when you wait anxiously for days to get it then find numerous problems. Very disappointed.

Good study guide except that the calculator sections are out of date. Not publishers fault since the GED org changed the standard calculator from the Casio fx260 to the Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiViewâ„¢ Scientific Calculator.

I bought this for my husband to do his GED. Even though he graduated from his high school in his birth country it is not recognized in the US so he had to take the GED. After studying on his own with this book for a year (his prior job prevented him from taking it earlier) he was able to join the GED class and qualify to do his exam in 3 months. He passed all his subjects on the first try. This book really helped him and I strongly recommend it.
