I had wanted this dictionary and I am glad to have it. It is helpful to me as a hula student. Maybe I will learn to pronounce my chants properly! It enriches my understanding of native Hawaiian culture.

I needed this book quickly for a class, and it showed up on time, right when I needed it! The book is used and in great condition, just as the seller claimed. This book has helped me with writing papers for my Hawaiian Studies classes. If you are new to the island, this is a must-have. And so are some classes about Hawaiian history and culture.

This book is undoubtedly the product of two hundred years of work with each linguist building on and adding to the body of knowledge of the previous ones. It’s most likely the best and most comprehensive Hawaiian language dictionary available anywhere and indispensable for any serious student.

My wife is from Hawaii and wanted to know more of the language, this will help.

This Hawaiian Dictionary is fantastic! Excellent! It is everything I was hoping it would be. The English section could be expanded on; but the Hawaiian section, which is about three quarters of the book, is stellar. This is a hard cover book which arrived in excellent condition. I give this book my highest recommendation.

Good lexicon.

Everything seemed fine until we looked for a word and found out that pages 5 thru 36 were missing,I have returned it and ordered a replacement. Will let you know if the new one is good.I am now read y to upgrade to a 5 star. Very prompt replacement with no questions asked. This one is complete and is a very good dictionary
