John is upfront that you must know the Big 4 first: Money Management, Knowledge of the Game, Discipline and Bankroll. In addition he emphasizes the Little 3: Theory, Logic and Trends. Finally, the player must understand that perfect play gives the gambler AT BEST a 50-50 chance of walking away a winner. If you start with the proper bankroll, apply strict money manage management principles, and are disciple to walk away when you reach your win goal (or loss limit) you can successful apply the systems he outlines in this book. I play the game on weekends and win about 50% of the time and lose 50% of the time. My win goals are small ($50 for a $200 buy-in) and loss limits reasonable ($70 for a $200 buy-in). I may be a conservative player, but am usually among the smarter players at the table. This book was a good investment for my gaming hobby.

A must-read for anyone interested in playing craps intelligently, Patrick uses an easy-to-understand approach to pound home his concepts of bankroll, knowledge, money management and discipline as the keys to successful play. Not a "get rich quick" scheme, but a solid, grounded approach which will benefit both the $5 player and the "high roller", Patrick not only discusses what to do, but WHY.

very informative and knowledgeable approach to the game

Very very heavy on money management and discipline. John seems to write for the masses as a whole, even in his advanced books, like this one. It took several readings and tons of underlining and bookmarks, but with book reading discipline I was able to find some real good strategies and gems that have paid off quite handsomely. He plays for a daily income and lives close to a casino, so what you learn will be the steady small kills. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer his books on cards the most.

John Patrick writes that casino gambling is not the road to riches, and I tend to agree. He has plenty of betting systems/progressions in this book, and plenty of what not to do.

This guy is really good at what he does. I have followed his advice and have finally had some winning days in a few different casinos.

Has some different aspects to the game of craps that I didn't realize. Bought the book to see if there was a better approach to the game and how to roll with the dice when they turn against you. Half way through the book and can't wait to get back to the tables to try it out. Don't anticipate big wins that the book explains usually don't happen, but do expect to come home with the shirt on my back and some bankroll still in my pocket. Don't expect to have big losses and do expect my chances of win is now better than it was before I bought the book!!!!
