My T-Rex Gets a Bath is pretty similar to a lot of storylines out there in picture book format, both on Kindle and in hard copy. It's not quite as good as the better ones telling the same story. Basically Tom a human boy, has a pet named Rex (or toy dinosaur perhaps acting out a part of his personality, which would explain why the mother is in the room when Rex is doing stuff like drawing with toothpaste). Tom knows he's supposed to do hygienic stuff like have a bath and brush his teeth, but Rex doesn't find these to be fun activities so pulls the plug or sabotages them in some ways. Tom doesn't want to get in trouble for Rex's behaviour so decides to show Rex these things can be fun.The story both with the number of activities Tom is supposed to do and the mischief of Rex just aren't as elaborate or numerous as most other similar books. The text does rhyme though. The pages are also formatted to display like an open physical book when the Kindlefire or whatever is in landscape mode (holding it horizontally). It is fixed in that display, you can't read it holding the device vertically. This is good though as there's plenty of self published Kindle picture books that display like a mess, with text on one screen and the picture supposed to be accompanying it appearing on the one prior or after. So it reads like an actual physical picture book which is always good to see an author cares enough about their readers (and their own work) to take the time to format it. The illustrations are I'm guessing water paint done. It's a decent read to your kid, but not one I doubt they'll want read over and over again.

I was super happy to get this book since my 3-year-old grandson spends quite a bit of time over here and we always read before he goes to bed, whether it be at night or just his afternoon nap, and lately he has developed an interest in dinosaurs. The book is not too long; not too short; with great illustrations to keep him interested and his imagination running while I read. We also tend to like books that rhyme, because it makes it easier for him to read along with me (as at this age they are very good at remembering the words in their favorite books). It also helps to teach him that everybody needs good hygiene, whether you are an animal or even an imaginary friend. My only problem with the book, which is something I am finding a lot, is the print is way too small. Not only is it too small; several of the pages have the print on a dark background which makes it very difficult to read. I know with some books you can use your fingers to expand the pages bigger to make it easier to read (which this book you cannot), but even when you can, then you make the pictures go away by doing this, which in turn looses the child's interest because the little ones need to see the pictures. Plus, if I have to hold the book, or Kindle in this case, closer to me just so I can read the small print, again he looses interest because he wants to see the pictures. So in short; great story, great illustrations, just the right length; but the print is way too small and on a dark background.

This book doesn't display well on the Kindle Paper White. The contrast is horrible. I had to turn the brightness way up and I was still having trouble reading the text, as it was dark text on a darker background. The text was also really small and it was a more elaborate text. I also read the book to my three-year-old on the PC, in color, so she could see the illustrations as the author had intended them and it was much better. I still wasn't completely happy about the message the book gives. As a Mom, I notice that the kid and his baby dragon are getting away with being messy and not being asked/told to clean it up. I mean, who's in charge? The parent or the child. I had to ad lib and tell my 3 year old that it's not good to make messes and not clean them up. Even my 3 year old knew that the dragon was naughty.

Good book for toddlers and preschoolers, especially for fans of dinosaurs. Tom has a pet T-Rex. They play all day, but Rex has a problem with bedtime routines. He doesn't like getting washed or brushing his teeth. Tom cleverly designs a plan that will get his pet dinosaur on the same page to cooperate and help.The small format of this book on my kindle Fire made it a bit small for young readers. Rhymes were easy to understand and the message came across clearly. Quick bedtime story and lesson for the under five set.

This is a cute book with very colorful pictures of Tom and his impressive-looking dinosaur, Rex. It ends well, with a good lesson, but the first part of the book has Rex creating lots of messes and Tom laughing. I was a little put off by the fact that the pictures show Tom’s mom just standing off to the side while Rex caused trouble (such as standing helplessly by as Rex draws on the floor with toothpaste) and not intervening.

My identical twin boys are obsessed with dinosaurs! They have them scattered all over their room, and are constantly playing with them, coloring pictures of them, and watching videos of them! So, when I saw this book, I knew they would love it, and I was right! They were so excited to have a book about a T-Rex who is friends with a little boy. They were completely enraptured as I read it, and giggled over some of the sill parts. They have asked me to read it many times since the first time, so I can say that it was a big hit in my house! I recommend it to other parents of little boys, and little girls who like dinosaurs, as well!

This book has some nice moments. The concept is cute but the rhyme and meter are off in a few spots. And it is extremely preachy. Kids will get the message without telling them that it is good to have good hygiene.

My T-Rex Gets a BathThis book sounded so silly I just wanted to read it because I know it will have me laughing.Children's rhyming colorful story of what happens after the toys have been picked up and it's time for the boys bath...with his T-Rex.They decide on a game to play while getting scrubbed clean.Some of the pages are very dark with dark lettering it's difficult to see.Cute story and a free gift.
